Broad Ripple Cherry Kitchen Update

This Broad Ripple kitchen renovation updated a very poor layout and dated finishes. It showcases how a high end look can be achieved with stock finishes paired with selective custom elements.

Broad Ripple Cherry Kitchen RenovationProject Highlights

The cabinets for this kitchen renovation are KraftMaid cherry in a dark stain finish. The curved end on the peninsula was custom built on-site with stock parts from KraftMaid.  The bar top was also a custom made  from raw 5/4 cherry, laid up and grain matched through the miter.

The built-in coffee maker was a relatively inexpensive addition, and was plumbed from an reverse osmosis water filter system the owner already had serving the icemaker and sink tap.

The sink was an online find and came with the drop in cutting board and bottom grate platform.

The appliance package is the new GE Cafe series.

Setting aside the quality differences between custom and stock cabinetry–a good design is probably the most important element to making a stock cabinet kitchen look high-end. Fortunately, stock cabinet manufacturers like KraftMaid continue to expand their offerings in sizes, configurations, accessories, finishes, etc.
